Divnogorsk - a city in the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk on the right bank of the Yenisei at the eponymous (Krasnoyarsk) hydroelectric power station. Being the very place celebrated in folklore where the Yenisei is “covered”, Divnogorsk combines the technogenic landscape with the magnificent Siberian nature. Between Krasnoyarsk and Divnogorsk there is the notorious Oatmeal, the birthplace of writer Viktor Astafyev, and to the south of the city begins a huge Krasnoyarsk reservoirperforming the role of a resort in these parts.

Cultural Heritage

The name Divnogorsk comes from the Divine Mountains, through which the Yenisei flows above Krasnoyarsk. The first settlement on this site was the Krasnoyarsk Znamensky male monastery founded in 1888. A marina was built next to it, at which the steamboats following the upstairs Yenisei made their first stop. The character of these places is well conveyed by the stories of Victor Astafyev, who was born in the village of Ovsyanka, which is 13 km downstream, halfway from Krasnoyarsk. Everything changed in the late 1950s, when the party and the government decided to build a huge hydroelectric power station on the Yenisei, choosing the Shumikhinsky target a couple of kilometers from the (by that time already) former monastery.

For the construction of hydroelectric power plants, they stretched out a railway and built a city called Divnogorsk. The Yenisei was blocked in 1963, the hydropower plants were launched in 1967 and finally put into operation in 1972 - it turned out to be a gigantic, technically non-trivial, but extremely unaesthetic structure that significantly changed the climate and had a strong impact on the environment. The hydropower plant itself, and especially the city next to it, would not be of great interest if they were not located in a very picturesque area, where, fortunately, landscapes still remained untouched by man. There are already few traces of human activity above the hydroelectric power station, and a giant reservoir located among the mountains will easily enter the top ten most picturesque corners of Eastern Siberia and serves as a favorite vacation spot for Krasnoyarsk residents. It is no less beautiful in its upper part, where the Krasnoyarsk Territory smoothly passes into Khakassia.

Actually, Divnogorsk is also a very unusual city, as it is located on terraces steeply descending to the Yenisei coast. There are a lot of trees, no less than panel houses, and among them there are still wooden barracks of the first years of construction of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric station. You will need at least a couple of hours to explore the city, or more - depending on the interest in the hydropower plant itself and the availability of transport. Along with Divnogorsk, you should visit Ovsyanka and have a bite to eat in one of the restaurants along the road, where you can try the most authentic Siberian cuisine in this area.

How to get there

Electric lines from Krasnoyarsk go along the dead end line to Divnogorsk twice a day, an hour is on the way. It is more convenient to take a minibus No. 106, departing from Predmostnaya Square (behind the Communal Bridge) every 20-30 minutes, 40 minutes on the way. Several flights per day (No. 106a) follow to the Krasnoyarsk bus station. Although the city is located on the Abakan highway, buses in the direction of Minusinsk and Abakan usually go through the Krasnoyarsk airport and exit on the highway 40 km west of Divnogorsk. There may be buses passing through Divnogorsk, but they don’t stop at the bus station and leave no traces in the city.

On the Yenisei there is no scheduled service. In the summer on weekends there are pleasure boats from Krasnoyarsk.

The road to Divnogorsk runs along the right bank of the Yenisei, and begins directly at the Communal Bridge. There will be several attractions along the way, see Oatmeal. 40 km from the center of Krasnoyarsk, then the road crosses to the left bank and goes to Abakan (370 km).

Transport

Divnogorsk itself is a small, but relief city. At least one minibus walks around it, circling residential areas. From the bus station to the bridge over the Yenisei 5 km, to the hydroelectric power station another 1.5 km, but you still will not be allowed to go there. You can go down to the Yenisei and go all the time along the coast or by rail, which stretches to the very hydroelectric station. In the region of the hydroelectric station, a departmental minibus often travels, the possibility of travel on which has not been studied. Some travelers also report on a city minibus that goes to the checkpoint of the hydroelectric power station, but it does not often go (if it exists at all). If you arrived in Divnogorsk without a car, it makes sense to take a taxi, which at the same time will take you to the left bank, and the drivers will tell you the best viewpoints.

Divnogorsk

Access to the hydroelectric power station itself is closed to mere mortals, although by pretending to be a journalist or a blogger, you can ask for an excursion, unless, of course, you agree on this in advance.

During periods of high water and high water at the hydroelectric station, a spillway can be arranged - this is a spectacle abruptly Niagara Falls.

Oatmeal

The village of Ovsyanka has been known since the 17th century and is only a little younger than Krasnoyarsk. It gained worldwide fame thanks to its growth here in the 1930s. writer Viktor Astafyev, through many books of which the theme of the Yenisei and Siberian nature passes. The village itself has changed a lot since then, overgrown with summer residents, and more recently, the museums of the same Astafyev - but the views of the opposite, rocky left bank, remained the same and give an idea of what inspired the writer.

Divnogorsk minibuses stop near the village. From the stop you need to cross the railway, walk a couple of hundred meters, keeping a little to the right, and you will find yourself at the Astafiev Museum. From the banks of the Yenisei, excellent views of the rocks.

Krasnoyarsk reservoir

The reservoir stretched hundreds of kilometers from the hydroelectric power station. Most of it is located in the mountains and is accessible, as in previous times, exclusively by water. You can approach the shore only at the village Hype located right behind the hydroelectric power station. Shumikha herself is an agglomerate of recreation centers where you can’t even freely approach the water: they will probably ask you for money to visit the recreation area or something else like that. Anything interesting (caves and rocks) is, in any case, noticeably further, so you have to rent a boat or look for a boat trip around the reservoir. Excursions are organized by Krasnoyarsk travel agencies, it is better to book in advance. In winter, enthusiasts walk on ice or even drive cars.

There is no public transport to Shumihu. You need to go by car or taxi from Divnogorsk.

Purchases

In the vicinity of the bus station, in small shops and just with it, they sell everything you may need. Along the Divnogorsk route, especially in the village of Ust-Mana, there are many points selling smoked fish. Try nelma and muksun. You may be offered the “king fish” - the Yenisei sturgeon, but you must understand that he is threatened with destruction, and his catch is prohibited.

Food

You can also eat in the “Divny” ski resort, in which three cafes are declared at once, although it is not clear how and when they work. In addition, there are several establishments along the Divnogorsk highway, where regular roadside cafes and full-fledged restaurants specializing in Siberian dishes are equally represented.

Neighborhood

On the road from Krasnoyarsk you will pass by the Central entrance to Pillars Nature Reserve. If you have a car or some skill, Divnogorsk and Pillars can be visited in one day, since they are on the same Abakan highway. Having followed it south, beyond Divnogorsk, you will first go for a couple of hours along the picturesque taiga growing on the spurs of the mountains, and then you will end up in Khakass steppes, where there are a lot of interesting, although not very accessible monuments like mounds and scribbles. The end point of this route is all standing on the same Yenisei Abakan - the city itself is uninteresting, but located in an incredibly scenic area that has nothing to do with what you see in the vicinity of Divnogorsk and Krasnoyarsk. Further, the road through the passes goes to Tuva.

What to do and what to see in Divnogorsk: sights and monuments, museums and entertainment, night clubs and exhibitions, Divnogorsk theaters. Architecture, nature, exhibitions, sports. Photos, tips and reviews of travelers and tourists, ratings, ratings.

Sights and memorial places of the municipality Divnogorsk city

The municipality of the city of Divnogorsk includes several villages, most of which are located on the highway leading from Divnogorsk to Krasnoyarsk. These two cities are connected by three types of roads - water along the Yenisei, iron and highway. A tourist who wants to see the purely Siberian exotic of Divnogoria is better to use a car or a bus.

PEOPLE'S MUSEUM
In Astafyev’s novel “The Pass” and in the film “Gulls Didn’t Fly Here,” shot on this story, the characters of Mansky rafts, their difficult and dangerous work, and the special relationship of people and the working river are vividly reflected. Today there is no alloy, no alloy office, nor its staff. But the memory of them, as well as of the man’s defenders of the motherland, of the graduates of the man’s school, is kept by expositions, albums, museum exhibits of the famous Ust-Mansky Folk School Museum. This wonderful museum of local lore, created by K.V.Zyryanov, began with a modest school corner, in which curious guys collected archaeological finds. Gradually, interest in ancient history aroused in the children an interest in modernity, which turned out to be no less interesting than deep antiquity. So began to grow and enrich the museum's exposition.

“MANSKI VIRAZH”
A private club on the outskirts of Ust-Mana gathers fans of skiing. It serves visitors with special membership cards. At their service on the slope of the right-bank hill are two lighted trails of 1100 and 120 meters, a stationary ski lift, a comfortable hotel, gourmet restaurant and cafe cuisine.

A small Siberian village, now known throughout Russia, arose in the second half of the 17th century, on the right bank of the Yenisei River, 20 km upstream from the Krasnoyarsk fort.
The question of the time of founding Oatmeal is controversial. With confidence we can only say that Oatmeal appeared no later than 1671. In these years, the first backyard census of residents of the Krasnoyarsk district was conducted, according to which there were six yards in the village of Ovsyanka, and another yard in Ust-Mana. This is the first mention of the village of Ovsyanki of the Krasnoyarsk district in documents that have reached us, therefore it is September 30, 1671 that is so far the official date of its emergence as a settlement.
In the second half of the XVII at the mouth of the river. Oatmeal (as it was always called in official documents), the Krasnoyarsk authorities transferred a group of Cossacks with their families for "precaution", that is, covering the city and agricultural lands belonging to the Krasnoyarsk people on the right bank. Oatmeal was a small prison, well-armed, and until the beginning of the 16th century it remained the southernmost outpost of Russians on the right bank of the Yenisei, and the number of yards steadily increased.

Grandfather Astafieva
Despite the constant threat of raids by the Yenisei Kyrgyz, the Ovsyans actively explored the surrounding lands, and acquired their own mill. Next to Ovsyanka, ataman mouth Ivan Zlobin started farming at the mouth of the Slizneva river (in documents of the 17th century Slizhneva). A mill appeared on his estate, on which several newly baptized serfs worked together with Zlobin. Subsequently, the farm with the Zlobin mill was abandoned. And only after two hundred years at the mouth of the river. A slug-filled eccentric newcomer man Pavel, nicknamed the Bunting Mazov, was again built a mill. This miller is Pavel Mazov, and according to the passport Pavel Yakovoevich Astafyev was the grandfather of the future Russian writer Viktor Petrovich Astafyev.
The house where Astafyev lived became part of the museum complex, along with the house of Ekaterina Petrovna Potylitsyna, the writer’s grandmother. Today this complex is a branch of the Krasnoyarsk Museum of Local Lore, created by the work of its employees, clearly and accurately conveys the everyday features and features of the rural way of life of a peasant estate at the beginning of the 20th century.

LIBRARY-MUSEUM V.P. ASTAFIEVA
The rural center of V.P. Astafieva. Since 1994, the library has been located in a new building, designed by the architect, Professor A.S. Demirkhanova. In the book of reviews, open to all readers, next to the enthusiastic responses of Ovsyansky students, the philosophical thoughts of Nikita Mikhalkov and Alexander Solzhenitsyn coexist. But the main achievement is that people, veteran villagers, old-timers Ovsyanki, schoolchildren and numerous guests go to the library.
